One could spend a lifetime at Los Poblanos and never fall out of love” –Su Casa MagazineLos Poblanos tree lined entranceWhen we turned onto the oak tree lined driveway at Los Poblanos Ranch we were instantly transported to an enchanted sanctuary in a different time.  All our cares seem to have drifted away.  There was a soft breeze rustling through the green leaves of the Elm Trees as though they were welcoming us.los poblanos Hanging chilis on patio at the entranceWe were greeted by hanging Ristras {A string on which New Mexico red chiles are hung} on the hacienda-style architecture before entering the courtyard.

The lush courtyard has several places to sit and relax and enjoy the moment of this tranquil space.Los Poblanos Farm Guest Room

All rooms have wood-burning fire places.  When handsome and I went for a walk in the early evening, the staff came and lit the fireplace for us.  It was so very romantic to come back to the room with a roaring fire.  The wood floors made it feel like we were home, not in a hotel.  I love the lavender spa bath products, the scent is amazing and to think they were all made from the lavender that grows right their on the property!  Let’s talk about the bed, it was by far the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in.  When we laid in it, it seemed to engulf us in pure luxury!  Just in case you can’t, tell I LOVE this place.

los poblanos pool area

The pool area was nice and secluded.  This is the same area that the bikes are kept.  I hadn’t been on a bike in more than 10 years.  I forgot how much fun it is to ride.

Those beautiful french doors lead to the Inn’s breakfast room.  That is a place you wont want to miss.  Breakfast is included, an organic gourmet breakfast.  The food is harvested the day you eat it!  I have never tasted anything so wonderful and fresh.
Paths and Peacocks

Everyday we would walk around the beautiful grounds, Albert {the white peacock}, was always somewhere lurking close by, acting very aloof.  los poblanos Farm Animals  And, then there are the farm animals.  I wanted to take them all home, well maybe not the llama he seemed to be judging me!  The colors of the chickens were unbelievable.  I don’t know if it was because I am not usually that close to chickens or they are just so happy living at Los Poblanos {I think it’s the latter}.

Los Poblanos Farm House

Right beyond the farm animals is the Los Poblanos House Store, where guests and locals can purchase from their large array of items.  There are so many wonderful gifts to look at, from gourmet food to apparel.  I think we spent an hour decided on all the things to purchase.  My favorite purchase besides the lavender bath products and the olive wood cutting board and the cute little wooden measuring spoons, was the cooking lavender.  If I had more room in my suitcase, I would have purchased much, much more {darn airlines restrictions}.  Take a look at the wonderful items they sell in their farm shop here.

I didn’t say it before but, Handsome took me to Los Poblanos for our anniversary.  I don’t think he will ever be able to out do this one.  It was the most romantic wonderful experience from the room to the staff to the gourmet food.  Everything was 5 stars.  I can only hope, one day we will get the chance to visit again!
