The week started off great with a walk on the Huntington Beach Pier. The surfers were out and so were the hoards of people fishing off the pier. The mornings have been full of June gloom which makes for perfect walking weather.
As much as I try to stay away from bread I just can’t help myself! So when I saw this sign at my local coffee shop I knew it was a sign… Insert smile!
So happy when I saw these beauties at Trader Joe’s. I look forward to Peonies season every year, they bring a smile to my face (maybe even more than bread). They had some beautiful burgundy ones this year, but I’m such a traditionalist.
A little garden inspiration. I’m loving the vertical gardens at this home and I’m trying to figure out how and where I can incorporate a wall like this in my backyard. I like to make a vertical herb garden. Do any of you have one?
I was doing a few errands in Laguna Beach when I came across this adorable little fairy garden tucked away on the side of a building.

Did you know when you smile you are throwing a party in your brain? Smiling activates the release of neuropeptides which fights off stress. It also relaxes the body which can lower your heart rate and blood pressure. Studies have shown that those who smile are treated differently than those who do not. People who smile are thought of as attractive, sincere, reliable, and relaxed.
Smiling is contagious.
Here are just 5 of the millions of things that make me smile…
Swinging on a swing set.
Hearing someone speak Italian.
Having coffee & donuts.
Sitting by a fire.
Last but not least, Handsome. From that silly moment I caught him looking at me, I have not stopped smiling.
So next time you are out and about smile at the strangers you walk by, it just might make their day.
Smile! It does a body good.
It will make your day brighter and your brain will throw a party!

What are your favorite APPS you can’t live without?
In the world of beauty there are an endless amount of beauty tips and rules to follow. Over the years, I have learned a thing or two about some very important beauty tips from my mom (I should have listened to her sooner), make-up artists, friends, and my short career in a cosmetics department (I do miss the free make-up).
Today, I’m going to share with you my five favorite beauty tips that I follow daily! And if you’re not doing these things you should!
Always remove your make-up before going to bed and apply a night cream no matter how tired you are.
Make sure to exfoliate your lips prior to applying lipstick. Doing so will make your lips look more plump and help your lipstick stay on longer.

Favorite Things, Inspiration, and Five Happenings This Week!
The week started off slow…literally!
I spent last Saturday in the Emergency Room with a swollen leg. “They think” it’s a sprained knee. Even though I’m not very mobile I know I will always have my trusty Yorkie (Biscotti) to keep me company. (more…)
