1. Spend Time In The Present
Stop dreaming about when and if and enjoy the right now! Time goes quickly (it’s already February!). This, right now is the most important time of your life, go out and seize the day…and the night!
2. Be Grateful
Keep a gratitude journal bedside and every evening write down the things you were grateful for in that day. Every morning set a quiet time for yourself where you can reflect and recall the good in life and reread the items you were grateful for the previous day. Gratitude will help you to focus on all the good in your life even if your life is far from perfect.
3. End Toxic Relationships
This can be a very difficult painful process. It can be scary and overwhelming especially if it’s a long-term relationship or friendship. Toxic people thrive on control and it is likely that they learned this behavior in their own childhood. There comes a point in every toxic relationship when you realize you give more of yourself emotionally and receive no emotional support back. It’s time to cut the strings and let that relationship go.
4. Do Things You Love
As Confucius said “do what you love” and Maya Angelou who said “…pursue the things you love doing and then do them so well that people can’t take their eyes off of you.” When we do what we love we are more likely to be healthier, happier, and far more successful than those who do not. Do little things daily that you love and bring you joy.
5. Start Forgiving And Then Just Let It Go
It’s important to work through your feelings of why you won’t forgive yourself or why you hold a grudge against another in order to truly forgive. Once you do this you can release all the anger and hurt inside. One of the hardest things to learn is to forgive, not just yourself, but to forgive others. It is essential to let go of the past and to move on.
6. Don’t Procrastinate, Get On With It
Do you put things off until all you do during your waking hours is think about what you need to get done? STOP! The solution is simple write down on a piece of paper 3 steps that will help you complete the task at hand then do one step at a time until it’s done. You can’t look forward to the future if there are things holding you back.
7. Spend Time With Nature
Breathe deeply in the beauty of nature. Walk barefoot and feel the energy of the soil/sand under your feet. Spend time getting in touch with your soul.
8. De-clutter Your Space
Clutter is bad for your health, the more “stuff” that is around the more one feels out of control of ones life and stresses. Clutter is anything you have that is not adding value to your life, it is bringing you down energetically and psychologically. Donate 1 thing everyday for 30 days (you’ll be surprised at how simple and easy this is to accomplish).
9. Check Out Of Social Media One Day A Week
A break from social media is good for your over all mental health and well-being. We’ve all read about the negative effects that social media has on us. Take a day off every week
10. Trust Your Heart
“Your mind will answer most questions if you learn to relax and wait for the answer.” ~William S. Burroughs. Follow the voice of your heart and intuition, the answers to your questions are all within you.
